Man Utd manager Jose Mourinho has won the race for £100m Paul Pogba – according to reports
Manchester United have agreed a world record deal for Paul Pogba – according to reports.
The French international will become the most expensive player in history when he completes a £100m move to Old Trafford – smashing the £85m Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale in 2013.
Pogba is Jose Mourinho’s top target in his first transfer window at United, and the club’s executive vice chairman Ed Woodward has worked hard to land the 23-year-old.
The Mirror report that a deal has now been reached that will see him earn £210,000-a-week.
Pogba left United as a free agent in 2012 due to his frustration about his lack of first team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson.
He has gone on to establish himself as one of the finest midfielders in the world at Juventus.
Real Madrid were also heavily-linked with a move for him this summer – but the Champions League winners opted against entering into a bidding war with United.
Woodward did not fly out to China with the rest of United’s squad for their pre-season tour this week – instead staying behind to broker a deal with Juve.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has already secured moves to Old trafford for two of his other clients this summer in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
